DESCRIPTION:As part of its 30th anniversary celebration\, Complexions Contemporary Ballet is appearing at the Gallo Center for a second consecutive season—and introducing a new work\, For Crying Out Loud\, featuring the music of U2! \nUsing the raw and unfiltered music of Songs of Surrender\, U2’s latest release\, choreographer and Complexions co-founder Dwight Rhoden brings the vibrancy of the stories told by the music and lyrics into a landscape of expression—drawing on the grit and honesty of these iconic songs stripped down to their acoustic best. The performance is both moving and uplifting\, leaving the audience with a sense of hope for what’s to come. \nRhoden and the legendary Desmond Richardson\, both former dancers with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater\, founded the company in 1994. They brought a singular and somewhat shocking approach to reinventing dance through a groundbreaking mix of methods\, styles and cultures. \nToday\, Complexions represents one of the most recognized\, diverse\, inclusive and respected performing arts brands.
