Established in 1975 as a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization, Saint Louis Ballet has been dedicated to advancing the art of ballet in St. Louis for nearly 40 years. When Gen Horiuchi joined the organization as Executive and Artistic Director in 2000, he expanded Saint Louis Ballet from a small, civic company that occasionally hired guest artists and staged one production per year to what it is today: a resident ballet company that employs 21 professional, paid dancers and stages 5 artistic productions each season (20-25 public performances) at the 1,600 seat, state of the art Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Saint Louis Ballet performances reach over 17,500 people per year.

Their upcoming 23/24 season is full to the brim with stunning ballet. From timeless classics such as The Sleeping Beauty and Giselle to exciting works from  innovative choreographer Brian Enos and a nod to the Blues by the dynamic duo of director Gen Horiuchi and composer TOYA. Rounding it all out with George Balanchine’s Square Dance and  Gen Horiuchi’s The Nutcracker, this is a season not to be missed.
