Overview

Come soak up the radiant Michigan sunshine with us this August. We invite you to experience GRB’s Summer Series as we embark on a tour to the Great Lakes Center for the Arts, the Summer Dance Festival, and Frederick Meijer Gardens.

Make GRB part of your summer vacation and join us on tour in Petoskey, Michigan on August 17 at the Great Lakes Center For The Arts. This mixed repertory program will include the audience favorite, Jump Cut, choreographed by Penny Saunders from our 2022-23 season, and Le Grand Jazz!, choreographed by Darrell Grand-Moultrie.

Grand Rapids Ballet is excited to announce our third annual FREE Summer Dance Festival outside the Peter Martin Wege Theatre on August 23 & 24. Join us for an unforgettable celebration of artistic diversity featuring local dance artists from all over Michigan, spanning various genres, all set in a lively atmosphere featuring food trucks, beer, and wine!

Grand Rapids Ballet is thrilled to return to Frederick Meijer Gardens on August 27, offering a delightful evening of ballet beneath the colorful summer skies. Programming includes the revival of Le Grand Jazz!, a beloved audience favorite choreographed by Darrell Grand-Moultrie for last October’s ballet production. This dynamic work pulsates with energy, featuring a blend of classic tunes and contemporary jazz melodies, sharing its infectious energy with the audience. The work showcases a vibrant community of dancers who embody playfulness and introspection and are always full of life. Coupled with a selection of additional works, the ballet’s return to the gardens promises an exciting experience for all attendees.
