After more than two decades, Firebird returned to the DTH stage this year to overwhelming audience and critical acclaim, with packed houses in Detroit; Paris; Norfolk, Virginia; and New York. The production—choreographed by John Taras and brought to life through Geoffrey Holder’s vibrant, Caribbean-inspired sets and costumes—has reemerged as a signature work for the company, blending classical ballet with rich cultural storytelling.

Described as “a show-stopping piece . . . danced with power and attitude” (Interludes), Firebird showcases the extraordinary artistry of Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Company Artists while reimagining a classic through a distinctly diasporic lens.
