Essential item in your dance bag?
My iPad. I film class and rehearsals every day and then go home and watch manically and neurotically. [Laughs] In a fun way, not a crazy way.

Movie you can re-watch till the end of time?
I like horror films so my first instinct is director Ari Aster’s Hereditary and Beau Is Afraid. But I think my final choice would actually be Rush Hour with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Not a horror movie, just very fun and entertaining. The chemistry between the two of them is so good and the fighting choreography is crazy. I’ve already seen it a million times; I could watch it a million more times. On and on. Forever.

Dancer who’s inspired you?
The dancers who inspire me the most are my colleagues. Endless inspiration. The way that everybody works and is just so dedicated and focused. I learn so much every day working with them.

Song/artist/playlist you’ve been playing on repeat?
“Count Me Out” by Kendrick Lamar. Fantastic writing, truly amazing. Crazy. One of a kind. Check it out.

Favorite and least favorite dance step?
My favorite dance move is fondu. I just like the way that it feels and it applies really beautifully to steps that come later in the class. I think fondu is the beginning of a lot of very difficult technical feats. But mainly I just love the way it feels.

My least favorite is frappé for the exact opposite reason. I don’t like the way that it feels and I always struggle with the feeling. But I’m trying to love it anyway.

How do you like to spend your time outside of dance?
To be honest, dance is pretty all consuming. I spend a lot of time focused on it and focused on my recovery—stretching, rolling out, watching the videos on the iPad, or going over choreography. But when I have time off, I like to play video games. I try and stay open and let the plans come to me. There’s so much to do in New York City, so sometimes it’s good to have no plan and see where the wind takes you.

Dream ballet role?
It’s more my dream to be a part of something new. I would love to be a part of someone’s creation who has a vision for something new and exciting.

Essential post-show ritual?
Going back to my house or the hotel and getting my supplements—fish oil, magnesium, turmeric or cumin, vitamin D. The list goes on. Gotta have my supplements after the show as well as a roll out/stretching session. The supplements just help keep everything feeling good.
