Essential item in your dance bag?
Apart from my pointe shoes and toes pads, having a skirt or leg warmers are great so I can change up my outfit whenever, but to be honest there’s a lot of random stuff in there that probably needs to be taken out.
Movie you can re-watch till the end of time?
I wish I had a cooler answer, but it’s definitely The Meg. I’m not entirely sure why it’s become such a staple for me, but it is. I love a good shark movie and I’m a sucker for a Jason Statham action movie.
Dancer who’s inspired you?
There are so many inspiring dancers to pick from and I’m surrounded by so many dancers I look up to on the daily, but for me it’s always been my two older sisters, who also dance, Rachel and Regan Hutsell.
Song/artist/playlist you’ve been playing on repeat?
“Goodbye Yesterday” by Elevation Rhythm has been a recent go to bop but it’s always way too hard to pick just one.
Least favorite dance step?
I definitely have to go with a developé front. Not my best angle.
How do you like to spend your time outside of dance?
This year I’ve gotten a lot more involved with my church, Mosaic Community Church, which has truly been great, so I spend most of my time at some sort of church event. I also love spending time with friends either playing games, watching movies, or just catching up.
Best place to hang out in your company’s home city?
I’m going to have to go with company members Sarah-Gabrielle Ryan and Kyle Davis’ apartment with both their dogs while watching a movie with Melisa Guiliams (another dancer) and Jack Haskins . . . but Discovery Park is also great.
Dream role?
I would love to do anything featured in a Crystal Pite ballet. Especially something in The Seasons’ Canon or Plot Point.
Go-to coffee shop order?
I’ve recently been trying to cut back on my caffeine intake, so it’s been a double iced decaf Americano, but I also love a Vietnamese coffee from Caffè Zingaro.
Essential post-show ritual?
There’s really no method to the madness, but it always involves getting my makeup off, a shower, some dinner, and trying to wind down from the show.
