Find Your Perfect Match: Indianapolis Ballet and Friends of Indy Animals Partner to Promote Pet Adoptions

INDIANAPOLIS (February 4, 2025) – Love is in the air, and this Valentine’s season, the Indianapolis Ballet and Friends of Indy Animals are coming together once again to help find forever homes for adoptable dogs at Indianapolis Animal Care Services (IACS). Their partnership not only shines a spotlight on pets in need but also raises awareness for the Ballet’s upcoming production of Be Our Valentine.

Four adorable dogs—Kaida, Gotti, Seraphina, and Orwell—joined Indianapolis Ballet apprentices Anna Graczyk and Kaci King, along with company artists Gabriela Gutierrez and Avery Ward, for a heartwarming photoshoot filled with snuggles, treats, and even a little dancing. And in a truly happy ending, Orwell found his forever home shortly after the event!

“We had such an incredible time meeting and playing with these wonderful dogs! It was a real treat—pun intended. Each of them, like so many others, is waiting for a loving home, and we hope these photos capture just how special they are. We can’t wait to hear about their adoptions at our upcoming performances of Be Our Valentine!” – Gabriela Gutierrez, Indianapolis Ballet Company Artist

Celebrate the season of love with Be Our Valentine at the Tobias Theater at Newfields, featuring three performances from February 14–16. The production includes George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Victoria Lyras’ Hellenic Soul, and Ramón Flowers’ Dixon’s Groove. Tickets at indyballet.org/valentine.

“This collaboration is a fantastic way to bring the arts and animal welfare communities together! The photoshoot gave our long-stay pups a special day out while helping promote both the Indianapolis Ballet’s performance and our Be Our Valentine monthly giving campaign.”Kristin Hancock, Executive Director, Friends of Indy Animals

IACS currently has hundreds of adoptable dogs looking for loving families. Learn more about the dogs featured in the photoshoot and explore fostering or volunteer opportunities at indy.gov/agency/animal-care-services.
