Pile out of the car everyone and welcome to our second stop of En Face On The Road – we’ve arrived at Moving Arts as they perform in Cincinnati, Ohio!

Founded with the mission of providing employment opportunities for performing artists during the summer months when dance performances are traditionally scarce, Moving Arts has now entered its 10th season.
Not content with merely enriching the dance culture in Kansas City, the company has in recent years also extended its artistic influence to the vibrant arts community of Cincinnati.

En Face Magazine was honored to go behind the scenes of their opening weekend with Gabe Lorena.
He is currently a company dancer with Kansas City Ballet and is both a dancer and choreographer for Moving Arts’ 2023 season. With him, we were able to explore backstage, see excerpts of each of the pieces, as well as learn more about his creative inspiration for his new work Yin Yang. Other choreographers featured included
Stephanie Martinez, Andonis Foniadakis, and Christian Denice. See Gabe Lorena’s Instagram takeover here (immediately followed by the Ballet Sun Valley takeover segment).

For those who missed Moving Arts’ captivating performances in Cincinnati, fear not! The company will be heading back to its roots in Kansas City, Missouri on July 21-22.
