The nationally acclaimed audience magazine publisher is thrilled to unveil its partnership with the prestigious Scottish Ballet

March 31, 2026

En Face Ballet Collection, the acclaimed in-theater publication dedicated to celebrating ballet, is proud to announce its newest partnership with Scottish Ballet for its upcoming performances of Mary, Queen of Scots at the David H. Koch Theater in New York City.

En Face is excited to transform the traditional playbill into a beautifully designed magazine that doubles as a lasting keepsake for audiences. This collaboration allows Scottish Ballet to further elevate the patron experience while continuing its focus on artistic excellence.

Mary, Queen of Scots is a major new production from Choreographer-in-Residence Sophie Laplane and co-creater James Bonas. It draws upon the complex relationship between Mary, Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I of England—two women who never met but whose rivalry defined an era. Laplane’s bold choreography blends classical technique with contemporary edge, reshaping their story with powerful originality into a fatal dance of sex, jealousy, political intrigue, and religious warfare.

This issue of the Scottish Ballet magazine will feature elevated design and thoughtfully curated editorial content that enhances the overall theater experience. With rich visuals and engaging storytelling, the publication offers audiences a deeper, more immersive connection to the world of ballet. A digital version of the publication will also be made available online for ballet fans everywhere.

Christopher Hampson CBE, Scottish Ballet’s CEO and Artistic Director says, “Mary, Queen of Scots ask audiences to sit with a story they think they know and discover it completely afresh. The programme is part of that experience—it’s where the context, the artistry, and the ideas come to life for the audience before the curtain rises. We’re delighted to be working with the team at En Face, whose passion for dance and commitment to the art form makes them a natural partner for Scottish Ballet.”

“Scottish Ballet represents the very best of what ballet can be today—bold, relevant, and deeply rooted in storytelling. Mary, Queen of Scots invites audiences to experience a familiar story in a completely new way, with a rare emotional intensity that stays with you. At En Face, we believe the publication should be part of that journey—transforming the traditional program into a refined, editorial-driven experience that deepens the connection between audience and performance. We are proud to partner with a company so committed to innovation and the future of ballet,” says Misty Tompoles, CEO of En Face.
