Two unforgettable performances in the Sun Valley Pavilion, including a co-commissioned world premiere from choreographer Jessica Lang.

Ballet Sun Valley (BSV) announced today that it will present the in-person debut of Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) led by Artistic Director Peter Boal, on June 27th and 28th in the Sun Valley Pavilion. The tour features two spectacular nights of dance in the mountains, with a unique repertoire of dynamic programming of classical and contemporary works.

Known for its artistic excellence and innovation, the company has performed on prestigious stages around the world—including tours throughout Europe, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, and major cities across the United States.

Artistic Director Peter Boal has led the organization for the past 20 years. Under his leadership the company has thrived and expanded to include a diverse repertoire of works by groundbreaking choreographers such as Alejandro Cerrudo, Ulysses Dove, Jiri Kylian, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Justin Peck, Crystal Pite, Alexei Ratmansky, Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp, and Christopher Wheeldon, among others.

This year BSV and PNB co-commissioned a new work from PNB Resident Choreographer Jessica Lang. The new work will have its world premiere at Ballet Sun Valley’s 2026 Summer Festival.

“PNB is thrilled to perform in Sun Valley. We have long admired the community’s dedication to dance, and the support Ballet Sun Valley offers to companies around the world. We proudly present a cadre of works selected specifically for the Pavilion stage. These ballets brilliantly showcase our repertoire and our dancers. A world premiere by Resident Choreographer Jessica Lang, produced in collaboration with Ballet Sun Valley, will be a highlight of our performances,” said Boal.

Ballet Sun Valley had hoped to present PNB in the Sun Valley Pavilion in the summer of 2020; however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival pivoted to a digital format. “We are so pleased to now be able to welcome PNB to perform in person on the Sun Valley Pavilion stage” shared Dick Davis, Chair of Ballet Sun Valley. “There is nothing like the feeling of experiencing live dance and we very much look forward to sharing two dynamic performances with this spectacular company.”
