“Our first date was to the Nutcracker on Dec 13, 1996 when it was at the Fort Worth convention center theater.  We have been married 25 years and have two children.  We have take them to the Nutcracker every year and even in 2020 we drove to Oklahoma City to see their Nutcracker “Sweet” performance.  Our daughter Lucy’s middle name is Claire inspired by Clara and she is a mouse in this year’s Nutcracker!”

“My favorite nutcracker memory is one I still think of every time I hear waltz of the snowflakes. I was ten years old and cast as a party girl. We had dress rehearsals in a studio that had the most beautiful curved windows that looked out to the bare trees. Just as waltz of the snowflakes had begun, it began to snow outside. Beautiful flakes through the black branches, all while our own snowfall whirled within the studio. It was such a beautiful, magical moment that I will never be able to forget.”

“This is our 25th performance of The Boston Ballets Nutcracker with my daughter. Our first was when she turned 3…we only missed 2 years, one she was sick and one for Covid. It is our mother – daughter annual Christmas outing! God willing we will have 25 more!!!”

“I first saw the ballet as a little girl and was immediately obsessed. I wanted to be just like Clara, and I wanted a soft, plush nutcracker doll to cuddle with at night. This was back before Amazon, and my mother, desperate to make my Christmas wishes come true, had to special order a doll for me all the way from the Kennedy Center in New York! I loved it so much I took it with me everywhere, long after Christmas was over. He even accompanied me to Disney World, and when I left him behind at our hotel room my Dad almost missed our flight going to retrieve him! I still love the nutcracker and try to see it every year with friends and family.”

“My nutcracker memory is rehearsing my clown dance on stage during intermission on the opening night performance. The whole cast was on stage at the same time and everyone was practicing their own dance. It was like a mashup dance with everyone in costume moving to a different beat. It was magical!”
