After the successful return of Alice, BalletMet will present Asian Voices March 15-23 at the Davidson Theatre. The triple bill will include three different ballets all from Asian choreographers including a world premiere from Yue Yin, a Columbus premiere from Ma Cong, and the return of an Edwaard Liang original.

Yue, the artistic director of YYDC in New York City and the founder of the FoCo technique, will present her original work Timeless Tide for the first time before an audience. Timeless Tide will tell an abstract story of emotion and feature music from Michel Banabila which was commissioned for Yue’s piece.

Associate artistic director of the Richmond Ballet, Ma Cong, will present Flight of Fancy for the first time before Columbus audiences. The energetic ballet will feature constant movement from the dancers.

Returning for the first time since its world premiere in 2022, Liang, BalletMet’s artistic director, will present Seasons. Inspired by Max Richter’s recomposition of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the ballet is a meditation on our relationship to time and space, the natural rhythms of the seasons, and our common humanity.

“We are so excited to amplify the incredible creativity of these artists, and I think it will be a moving production for anyone who attends,” said Liang.
