Indianapolis Ballet’s 2025–26 Season showcases the evolution of ballet from its classical roots, celebrating the legacy of George Balanchine, to where ballet lives in today’s contemporary world. The season also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Indianapolis School of Ballet

IndyFringe Festival | Aug 14–23, 2025

A part of Indianapolis’ annual IndyFringe Theatre Festival, Beyond Ballet features our artists in multiple lights as they perform works from classical ballet to jazz. Many works featured in this production include choreography by Founding Artistic Director Victoria Lyras, Assistant Artistic Director Kristin Young Toner, and premieres choreographed by your Indianapolis Ballet artists.

Experience the timeless elegance of Legacy in Motion, a captivating performance by Indianapolis Ballet celebrating the enduring genius of George Balanchine. This special program features two of his iconic masterpieces, The Four Temperaments and Concerto Barocco, along with a world premiere by the Indianapolis Ballet artistic team, showcasing the power, precision, and poetic beauty of Balanchine’s choreography. Join Clara on her incredible Christmas Eve journey to the Land of the Sweets with Indianapolis Ballet’s annual holiday tradition of The Nutcracker. Since 2007, our production of The Nutcracker has continued to enchant audiences here in central Indiana. You will be swept away by swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and the majestic Sugar Plum Fairy as Tchaikovsky’s beloved score fills Clowes Memorial Hall.

Treat your family to Nutcracker Sweets, a delightful one-hour version of The Nutcracker designed especially for younger audiences. Part of Indianapolis Ballet’s Family Series, this sweet and spirited production features all the magic of the holiday classic in a shorter, kid-friendly format. Perfect for first-time ballet-goers and families looking to share the joy of the season together!

Step into a world of contrast and emotion with Ethereal Blue to Fiery Red, a dynamic bill from Indianapolis Ballet. This captivating program pairs the elegance of Balanchine’s Valse Fantaisie, with its sweeping movement and luminous beauty, with the electrifying intensity of Boléro, set to Ravel’s iconic score. Together, these works offer a powerful journey through grace and passion, showcasing the full spectrum of ballet’s expressive force. This production will also feature Indianapolis School of Ballet’s Dance of the Hours honoring the School’s 20th anniversary.

Enter a world of enchantment with The Sleeping Beauty, presented by Indianapolis Ballet and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Follow Princess Aurora’s journey from a cursed slumber to true love’s kiss in this timeless production that promises to dazzle audiences of all ages.

Indianapolis Ballet closes its 25/26 season with A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a whimsical production perfect for audiences of all ages. Inspired by Shakespeare’s beloved comedy and set to Mendelssohn’s enchanting score, this magical tale of fairies, mischief, and young love is brought to life with vibrant costumes, playful choreography, and imaginative storytelling. A delightful introduction to ballet, this family-friendly performance promises laughter, wonder, and a touch of fairy dust to end the season on a high note.

Subscriptions and Tickets

Season subscriptions are available for renewal on June 2 and new season subscriptions are available on June 11.

Single tickets will go on sale on August 4.
