Oregon Ballet Theatre Announces the 2025/26 Season

Full of strong voices and powerful stories that show the rich variety of the ballet canon, Oregon Ballet Theatre’s season invites you to open yourself up to serendipity and experience something wonderful, from classics to world premieres.

Keller Auditorium | Oct 10–18, 2025

Deep in Transylvania, a monster lives in a castle, hungrily capturing women to take as his brides. When Dracula steals Svetlana, she fights back, certain her fiancé is coming to rescue her. But will he be too late?

Back by popular demand, Ben Stevenson’s lavish, haunting ballet combines drama and fantasy in a spectacle worthy of Broadway.

Keller Auditorium | Dec 5–24, 2025

A sparkling winter tale set to Tchaikovsky’s festive score. When Marie’s mysterious godfather gives her a magical Nutcracker that comes to life, Marie and her Nutcracker Prince set off on an unforgettable Christmas Eve adventure to the Land of Sweets.

Keller Auditorium | Feb 13–21, 2026

On her sixteenth birthday, a cursed princess dances with her suitors—until the prick of a finger changes everything. A tale of magic, darkness, and a love worth waiting 100 years for.

Set to Tchaikovsky’s enchanting score, Christopher Stowell’s fairytale ballet marries tour-de-force dancing with sumptuous sets and costumes to create a story that will steal your heart.

Newmark Theatre | April 3–11, 2026

Headlining this vibrant mixed bill is a co-production with The Joffrey Ballet: Dani Rowe’s Princess and the Pea, a playful and rebellious twist on a classic tale. In the rigid world of Pea Town, where only peas are allowed, one brave girl dares to challenge the iron rule of a spoiled Princess. With wit, determination, and an unexpected ally, she embarks on a battle of wills that just might change everything.

Dazzling and dynamic as ever, George Balanchine’s Rubies sparkles with jazz-infused energy and Broadway flair. Set to Stravinsky’s fiery Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra, it fuses classical technique with modern exuberance in a playful yet sophisticated display of sharp angles and syncopated rhythms.

In the compelling UnSaid, Rowe uses the duet to embody Jonathan Safran Foer’s words: “We had everything to say to each other, and no ways to say it.” The piece gives voice to the unspoken, capturing the longing, conflict, and vulnerability that exists in the space between two people in motion.

Our season’s grand finale is a trove of discovery—a collection of bold West Coast voices pushing ballet into uncharted territory. San Francisco Ballet’s Davide Occhipinti bends light into motion, while OBT’s own Lauren Flower crafts movement that lingers in the mind long after the curtain falls. Dani Rowe embarks on a new choreographic journey, sparked by the restless, searching energy of a “beehive”—a world buzzing with movement, thought, and transformation. And, as always, The OBT Collection holds one last surprise—an unexpected gem, unearthed from 2025’s OBT by Design. These are the ballets you haven’t seen yet but won’t forget. Be there when they emerge.
