An historic season celebrating anniversaries and new beginnings.

Ranging from George Balanchine classics to bold contemporary masterpieces, Philadelphia Ballet’s richly diverse 2026–27 Season is sure to be unforgettable.

This season is especially meaningful as it marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, as well as the beginning of a new era for the Company as their brand-new Center for Dance opens this fall.

The Academy of Music | October 8–11, 2026

This dynamic program showcases the energy, creativity, and spirit of American ballet through works by Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine, and Eliot Feld. From Robbins’ vibrant Fancy Free to Balanchine’s jazzy Who Cares? (Concert Version) and patriotic Stars and Stripes, as well as Feld’s bold Variations on ‘America,’ this program celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence through uniquely American movement and music.

The Academy of Music | October 15–18, 2026

This mixed repertory program showcases three works that blend energy, innovation, and intricate movement. Wayne McGregor’s Chroma fuses classical technique with modern fluidity, set to an eclectic score by Joby Talbot and The White Stripes. Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV: Danse à Grande Vitesse captures speed and power with relentless motion, set to Michael Nyman’s minimalist score. Twyla Tharp’s In The Upper Room demands raw energy and precision from dancers, paired with Philip Glass’ iconic music to create a transcendent experience.

The Academy of Music | December 4–31, 2026

Celebrate the season with the iconic George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. Battling mice, toy soldiers, dancing candy canes, and waltzing flowers spring to life, set to the timeless music of Tchaikovsky. Join Marie and her Prince on a journey to the Land of Sweets in this beloved holiday tradition.

The Academy of Music | March 4–14, 2027

Follow Cinderella as she overcomes loneliness, the abuses of her vain stepfamily, finds love, and makes her own dreams come true. Experience this classic story that blends humor, heart, and hope–one where wishes come true, courage triumphs over cruelty, and a lost slipper leads to a happily ever after.

Academy of Music | April 29–May 9, 2027

Don Quixote is a ballet of love and adventure. Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ timeless novel, this ballet tells the whimsical tale of love, heroism, and fantasy through dazzling choreography and vibrant Spanish dance.

Don Quixote has captivated audiences worldwide since its debut in 1869. Set to the lively and spirited music of Ludwig Minkus, Angel Corella’s restaging intertwines the adventurous journey of the delusional knight Don Quixote with the love story of Kitri and Basilio.
